very different perspectives on the arctic sea mystery
***
> mom: i don't suspect any cover-up, but with russian way of doing things people would probably think there was. > me: well there are a lot of issues here, don't you agree? what else if not a cover up? the authorities know everyone is asking the same questions, and they don't clarify > mom: exactly - russians don't understand the way public opinion, press works in the west and don't bother explaining anything. > me: i think they understand very well - putin is not an idiot. and they better explain if they want better relations, which they were certainly aiming for, a little bit > mom: putin is russian
***
> dad: i told right away that it carried non-declared cargo. > me: yeah that seems to be clear..i suspect that the ones who 'hijacked' and then left an hour later were told to get the hell out or else > dad: everything probably was staged and the crew knew
***
update: after informing my parents -
dad: to conclude: everything was staged and putin knew mom: very predictable as dad always suspects cover-ups everywhere
